But mining such "conflict minerals" in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries and within the region has resulted in serious human rights and environmental issues. In addition to compliance with the standards set by the EICC, we guarantee and promise not to use or purchase conflict minerals from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring areas.
